Assembly Agenda

The Challenge of Leadership:  New York State is at a critical juncture, facing challenges that demand bold, compassionate leadership, and innovative solutions. From economic recovery, education, healthcare, infrastructure improvement, and smart community development, we have a responsibility to ensure that every person in the 144th District has the opportunity to thrive.

With great enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility, I am eager to share my vision for our community, and my commitment to serving each and every one of you. As your Assemblyperson I pledge to be a tireless advocate for progress, equality, and prosperity.  As your Assemblyperson, I will be able to have a real seat at the table when decisions are made about the state budgets, funding education, economic development, public services, and state laws.  I will be able to be a voice for you that will be heard in Albany.

Empowerment through Education and Innovation: As an educator, I understand the transformative power of education.  I will work with you to ensure that every child in our state has access to high-quality education that prepares them for success in the 21st century economy.  Our children are the future, and they deserve access to the highest quality education possible. I will prioritize funding for schools, support our teachers, and promote innovation in education to ensure that every child has the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.

Economic Empowerment and Opportunity for All: I will work tirelessly to revitalize our economy, creating new opportunities for growth and prosperity.  By championing small businesses, including agribusinesses, investing in job training programs, and promoting sustainable, smart growth development, we can build a stronger, more resilient community for generations to come.  I believe that every person deserves the opportunity to build a better life for themselves and their families.  I will work to create an environment that fosters entrepreneurship, supports small businesses, and promotes economic growth in our corner of the state; not just downstate.

Public Health and Safety- Services for All:  The health and safety of our community is paramount.  I will work with you to improve access to healthcare, address the root causes of crime, and support our first responders and volunteers.  By investing in prevention and intervention programs, we can create a safer, healthier community for all.  Access to affordable, quality services like healthcare, mental health, employment, and training services is a fundamental right whether you are living in an urban, suburban, or rural area.  I will fight to protect and expand services for all, regardless of the income or zip code.

Environmental Protection and Stewardship: Protecting our land is not just a responsibility- it’s a moral imperative.  I will advocate for policies that preserve our natural resources and prepare our infrastructure to handle the increases in extreme weather incidents we have been experiencing from floods and blizzards to windstorms and more.  The state legislature has the ability and the obligation to develop and enact a permanent and environmentally secure resolution to the Lake Ontario water level problem.  Our livelihoods and those of our children and grandchildren depend on our land and freshwater resources for food through farming, hunting, and fishing, as well as recreation, and an improved quality of life. Together we can make a cleaner, safer future by protecting our natural resources and combating environmental injustice.  The state legislature must work with local communities to address their concerns for hazardous waste remediation.

Unity: I believe in bringing people together, regardless of background, political party, or beliefs.  Our strength lies in the proud individual people that make up our broad and diverse community.  I am dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where every voice is heard and valued.  I will be a fierce advocate for criminal justice reform that works for our unique community and equality for those who have been marginalized         or ignored by Albany.  Together, we can build a more just and inclusive society where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

I am humbled by the opportunity to serve as your Assemblyperson, and I promise to always put the needs of our community first.  Together, we can overcome any challenges and build a bright future for our community.  People Before Politics.
